Arma 3 is a massive military sandbox FPS developed and published by Bohemia Interactive on Steam. Developers have said that the Linux version of the game is in the works.

More and more developers are looking to port their games to the Linux platform, especially now that Valve is preparing to launch its consoles in just a few months. The dev team from Bohemia Interactive mentioned a while back that they were looking into building a non-native port for Arma 3 and it now looks like they are making some progress.

There are already a couple of major games that are not native on the Linux platform, like Witcher 2 and BioShock Infinite, and the performance varies quite a lot. The quality of Linux wrappers has been getting better and they are no longer impacting the system in a major way.

So it's quite possible that Arma 3 will run just fine on Linux, even if it's not a native port. The problem is that Linux is not a big enough platform to invest into a full native port, so having the game on another platform with minimum effort is always better than not at all.

"Experience true combat gameplay in a massive military sandbox. Deploying a wide variety of single- and multiplayer content, over 20 vehicles and 40 weapons, and limitless opportunities for content creation, this is the PC’s premier military game. Authentic, diverse, open - Arma 3 sends you to war," is noted on Steam.

The devs from Bohemia Interactive have only said that they are making progress and made no mention of a timetable.
