4MLinux developer Zbigniew Konojacki‏ is informing us today about the release and immediate availability for download of the Antivirus Live CD 23.0-0.99.2 distribution.

As its version number suggests, Antivirus Live CD 23.0-0.99.2 relies on the Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) open-source and cross-platform antivirus engine capable of detecting viruses, trojans, malware, as well as other malicious threats on Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems, and the 4MLinux 23.0 distribution.

Of course, 4MLinux 23.0 is not out yet, as it was slated for release in November 2017 last month when Zbigniew Konojacki‏ informed Softpedia that the next major version of his independently-developed GNU/Linux operating system had entered development, but Antivirus Live CD 23.0-0.99.2 borrows its latest technologies.

"Antivirus Live CD is an official 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner. It's designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses," said Zbigniew Konojacki in the announcement. "The latest version 23.0-0.99.2 is based on 4MLinux 23.0 and ClamAV 0.99.2."

Those who are looking for an OS independent antivirus solution that works without installing any application on the infected computer, should download the latest Antivirus Live CD 23.0-0.99.2 ISO image right now from our website if they want to protect their computer(s) against viruses.

The ISO images is hybrid, which means that you can either write it on a USB flash drive (recommended) or a CD disc, which you'll use to run Antivirus Live CD directly, without installing anything. More details on how to use Antivirus Live CD can be found on the official homepage or our in-depth review on the download page.
