Linux users are not usually bothered by viruses and there is rarely need for any kind of Antivirus software, but it doesn't mean that such solutions are not available anyway. Antivirus Live CD is one such software that actually works from outside your OS.

Antivirus Live CD is just what it says, an Antivirus software bundled into a LiveCD that can boot and inspect operating systems and can be partitioned without having to install anything. The developer provides a ready-made CD, with a huge database of signatures.

"Antivirus Live CD is an official 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner. It's designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses. The latest version 14.0-0.98.7 is based on 4MLinux 14.0 and ClamAV 0.98.7," wrote the developer.

Users need to keep in mind that this tool is not aimed only at Linux users. It would make it almost useless, since the need for such apps is quite low on this platform. If your Windows machine is infected, you can use this LiveCD to scan it. It's also worth pointing out that if you're system is using encrypted drives, you won't be able to scan the OS.

Also, as the developer has already said, this is based on 4MLinux, which means that it's quite small. You can download the latest version of Antivirus Live CD from Softpedia and give it a spin.
