Zbigniew Konojacki‏ informs Softpedia today about the release and immediate availability for download of the Antivirus Live CD 22.0-0.99.2 live operating system.

Antivirus Live CD is an open-source project based on the latest 4MLinux technologies and built around the Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) cross-platform and open-source antivirus software toolkit. Its main goal is to offer users a live image that can be used to clean PCs of viruses and other malware.

Today's Antivirus Live CD 22.0-0.99.2 release is based on the upcoming 4MLinux 22.0 operating system and uses the ClamAV 0.99.2 virus scanner with the latest virus signature databases. In the past, two versions were offered for download, one with the complete virus signature database and another one without it.

"If you need more features, then you should consider using 4MRescueKit, which has virus signature databases already included so that it can be used without an Internet connection. Additionally, 4MRescueKit ships with powerfull backup, partitioning, and recovery software," says the developer.

You can download the Antivirus Live CD 22.0-0.99.2 ISO image right now from our website if you want to protect your computer(s) against viruses. The ISO can be written to either a USB flash drive (recommended) or a CD disc, which you need to insert in the affected computer if you want to clean it or just check it for malware.

In the meantime, Zbigniew Konojacki works hard to bring us the final release of 4MLinux 22.0, which should land this summer, around July. 4MLinux 22.0 will immediately become the new stable release and it will be supported until the end of November 2017, when 4MLinux 23.0 should be revealed.
