Zbigniew Konojacki, the creator of the independent 4MLinux GNU/Linux distribution, has recently announced that version 13.1-0.98.7 of his Antivirus Live CD project is now available for download, based on the 4MLinux 13.1 series.

Antivirus Live CD 13.1-0.98.7 is based on ClamAV (Clam AntiVirus) 0.98.7 open-source antivirus software and promises to offer an independent solution for cleaning Linux kernel-based and Microsoft Windows PCs of viruses and other malware.

"Antivirus Live CD is a 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner. It's designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses. The latest version 13.1-0.98.7 is based on 4MLinux 13.1 and ClamAV 0.98.7," reads the brief announcement.

Antivirus Live CD 13.1-0.98.7 is available for download right now from Softpedia, and it is distributed as two Live CD ISO images, a bigger one that contains an offline virus signature database, and a smaller one that comes with no virus signature database.

If you have a good Internet connection and you don't mind downloading virus signature databases from the Internet, we recommend the smaller version, otherwise those who have limited bandwidth should download the bigger version for offline use.
