Zorin OS, an Ubuntu-based operating system aimed at Windows users who are switching over to Linux, has just been updated to version 8.1.

Zorin OS 8.1 is built on the Linux architecture, so it is completely open source. It is also based on Ubuntu, one of the most used Linux operating systems in the world. The distribution is using Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander), which will be supported for a few more months.

The previous release in the Zorin OS 8.x branch was only updated a month ago, but the developers have made available a new version. There isn’t any new information about the packages integrated in the new build, but it's most likely just an update for security purposes.

Check the announcement for the major Zorin OS 8 launch for more details about this Linux distribution. Download Zorin OS 8.1 right now from Softpedia.
