An Ubuntu-based operating system aimed at Windows users that are switching over to Linux, Zorin OS Educational, has now reached version 6.

Zorin OS 6 Educational series is based on a new desktop environment called “Zorin Desktop”, and comes with Zorin Look Changer, an application that allows users to change between Windows 7, XP and GNOME 2 graphical interfaces.

The distribution also has full support for technologies such as GTK3 and other important packages from the GNOME 3 stack, leaving the Compiz window manager unnafected.

Zorin OS 6 Educational includes dozens of educational programs for primary, secondary and tertiary students to provide for an ideal digital learning experience.

Zorin Group, the developers of the Zorin OS line of Linux distributions, also provide several other operating systems, some free and some that can only be downloaded after a small donation.
