ZevenOS-Neptune, a Linux operating system with software optimized for slower computers and with elements of BeOS, has just reached version 2.5 Beta.

ZevenOS-Neptune 2.5 Beta, codenamed “Fluid,” ships as two different editions: Minimal Edition (with LXDE) and Full Edition (with KDE SC). Both of them come with Linux kernel 3.3.4.

The Minimal Edition includes GIMP 2.8, Kdenlive 0.9, and VLC 2.0.1. The developers have also chosen to add RAID and LVM support in the advanced installer.

The Full Edition includes KDE Software Compilation 4.8.3 and a flurry of other important applications, but the main changes are the added templates for the panel layout in KDE.

Both editions of ZevenOS-Neptune 2.5 Beta come with an adjusted GTK3 theme for running GTK3 apps. Download ZevenOS-Neptune 2.5 Beta right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
