Zenwalk Linux 7.4 Is a Fast OS Based on Slackware

Jean-Philippe Guillemin has announced that a final version of Zenwalk Linux distribution 7.4a is now available for download.

Zenwalk aims to be a really fast distribution, and this is done through many optimization levels, starting with the kernel and ending with the applications and the desktop itself.

Highlights of Zenwalk Linux 7.4:

• The XFCE desktop environment has been updated to version 4.12 GIT; • Mplayer is now the multimedia player (instead of Totem); • The Lxdm is the display manager has replaced GDM; • Xfburn has replaced Brasero as the default DVD burner; • Geeqie is now the image viewer; • Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.10.25; • Various UEFI improvements have been implemented.
