This has to be the fastest Xubuntu released so far

Just like its older brother Ubuntu, the Xubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) Linux distribution will launch on April 25. It doesn't have as many changes as Ubuntu, but it's still a nice addition.

All the Ubuntu 13.04-based Linux distributions will feature the latest stable branch of Linux kernel, 3.8.x. This means that Xubuntu 13.04 will ship with Linux kernel 3.8, a version based on the 3.8.5 upstream Linux kernel.

As the name implies, Xubuntu uses the Xfce desktop environment, which has been updated, for the 13.04 release, to 4.10.

Another nice feature available in Xubuntu, that's sorely missed in Ubuntu 13.04, is the ability to customize and even close the system notifications.

Xubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) will only benefit from 9 nine months of support, unlike the previous version which had 18.

You can also download Xubuntu 13.04 Beta 2 from Softpedia and install it. When the final version is officially launched, you will only have to perform a simple system update.
