XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the latest title in the XCOM universe developed by Firaxis Games, might make it to Linux pretty soon.

There is no official information about the Linux version, but an entry was spotted in the Steam Database a while back. More details have been discovered in the XCOM: Enemy Unknown database entry, according to gamingonlinux.com.

A number of files have appeared in the file history, including some Linux binaries that look like this: launch/2/executable: binaries/linux/game.x86_64 › binaries/linux/xcom.sh.

It might not seem like much, but it's a lot more than what we had until now. The fact that the Linux binaries for XCOM: Enemy Unknown are now apparently ready means that the launch can’t be that far off.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a turn-based strategy game developed by Firaxis and published by 2K Games. If a port of this game finally arrived on the Linux platform, it would be the first title from one of the biggest publishers out there.
