Wayland, a protocol for a compositor to talk to its clients, as well as a C library implementation of that protocol, which can be used as a standalone display server running on Linux kernel modesetting and evdev input devices, an X application, or a Wayland client itself, has reached version 1.2.1.

This is not a major release, but it does take care of some bug fixes and documentation problems. The most important change has to be the introduction of touch support for toytoolkit and other clients.

“This release is mainly bug fixes and documentation tweaks, but a lot of them. We also have the touch support for toytoolkit and other clients. This is probably more of a feature, but it barely affects existing code paths or change weston internal API, so it's a safe addition,” stated Kristian Høgsberg in the announcement.

A detailed list of changes can be found in the official announcement. Download Wayland 1.2.1 right now from Softpedia.
