Last week, on March 7th, we've announced the stable release of the Wine 1.4 software that allows Linux and BSD users to run Windows apps.

Wine 1.5.0 is a development release and it comes with a brand-new version of the Gecko engine, partial support for using the Trash on the Macintosh 10 operating system, and some fixes to the 64-bit exception handling.

The new development version of Wine also brings support for path gradients in GdiPlus, as well as various MSXML improvements and assorted bug fixes.

Wine 1.5.0 also fixes issues with games like Halo 2, Imperium Galactica 2, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, Far Cry, Age Of Empires III, Starcraft 2, Sims 3, Counter Strike 1.6, Star Trek Online, Rainbow Six Rogue Spear, World of Warcraft, and more.

Some iTunes 10.x installation issues were also fixed in this release! See the entire changelog here.

Download Wine 1.5.0 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
