There is no information available about a Linux version for Opera

The Opera browser has quite a following on the Linux platform, but ever since the release of the new Opera Next, the Linux users have been left out.

Opera Software is already providing updates for the new Opera 15, which is based on the Chromium project. Windows and Mac OS users can download their new Opera version every time a new update is released, but no Linux version has been hinted.

Whenever a new release of Opera 15 is made available, the comment section on the official blog is filled with questions about a Linux version, which often remain unanswered.

The only exception has been made a month ago when an Opera programmer had this to say: “We'll release Opera for Linux, but don't have a date yet. We promise to tell people when we do!”

Until then, we'll continue to watch the constant updates for the other versions with envy.
