Webconverger, an evolution of the hybrid client for deployment in places like offices or Internet cafes, where only web applications are used, is now at version 25 and it’s available for download.

Webconverger is a distribution designed and developed with a single goal in mind, namely to provide the best Kiosk experience possible. It’s possible to set up a computer that provides free access to the Internet, but it will not allow the users to roam free in the rest of the operating system.

According to the changelog, a super simple whitelist = filtering option has been implemented, a new numlock API has been added to assist deployments in banks and such for numpad data entry, and the Firefox 29/30 based Australis has been implemented and the interface has received an update.

Also, the size of the distribution has been downsized from 397 MB to 375 MB (22 MB have been saved), the Nvidia video card support has been restored with the nouveau driver, and various SSL and flash security updates have been implemented.

Users of the distribution can update from the previous version. For more details, you can read the official announcement and you can download Webconverger 25 right now from Softpedia.
