WebKitGTK+, a version of the WebKit open source web engine that uses GTK+ as its user-facing front end, is now at version 2.0.0.

WebKitGTK+ 2.0.0 is finally out and it includes both the WebKit1 and WebKit2 APIs, by default. As for the WebKit1 API, it's now in maintenance mode and the developers will continue to fix any bugs.

Highlights of WebKitGTK+ 2.0.0:

• A clip region of windowed plugins has been fixed in WebKit2; • A compile warning in the WebKit2 unit tests has been corrected; • The WebKitGTK+ build with Python 3 has been fixed.

Check out the official announcement for a complete list of changes and updates. Users that intend to compile WebKitGTK+ have to keep in mind that it has a lot of dependencies.
