In case you didn't have the time to watch today's live keynote video with Mark Shuttleworth, founder of Canonical and the famous Ubuntu Linux operating system, you can watch the recording right now (see the video at the end of the article).

In the one hour-long video, Mark Shuttleworth talks about the upcoming features of Ubuntu 15.10, the next major release of the world's most popular free operating system, due for release sometime in October 2015.

Long story short, Canonical’s plans for Ubuntu 15.10 are to continue the convergence, bringing Ubuntu to PCs, TVs, and mobile devices, move to a different system architecture based on Snappy packages, as well as continue conquering the Cloud with Juju, Charms, and OpenStack.

At the end of the keynote, Mark Shuttleworth also revealed the codename of the Ubuntu 15.10 operating system, and we are happy to inform you now that it's Wily Werewolf. Yes, Ubuntu 15.10 will be dubbed Wily Werewolf.

"Watchful observers will have wondered why 'W' is yet unnamed," says Mark Shuttleworth on his website, announcing the codename of Ubuntu 15.10. "Instead, my waggish friends, the winsome W on which we wish will be… the 'wily werewolf.'"

Mark Shuttleworth's keynote was published today, May 4, as a pre-show to the Ubuntu Online Summit event for Ubuntu 15.10, which will take place online on the UbuntuOnAir website between May 5 and 7, 2015.
