Martin Wimpress, the lead developer of the Ubuntu MATE Linux distribution, has posted a new video on his YouTube channel showcasing the Interface Switching feature that will be integrated into the upcoming Ubuntu MATE 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) operating system via the MATE Tweak utility.

We’ve introduced the Interface Switching functionality two weeks ago, when we’ve reported that it lets users easily and quickly change the panel layout of their desktop environment under Ubuntu MATE. Today, you can see the upcoming feature in action in the video below, thanks to Martin Wimpress who was kind enough to share it with us.

In the 4-minute-long video, you will see how Martin quickly enables software compositor from MATE Tweak, and how he switches between MATE Desktop, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu MATE with MATE Menu, Redmond, Redmond with MATE Menu, Eleven, Eleven with MATE Menu, and OpenSuSE desktop layouts.

Currently, Ubuntu MATE 15.04 (Vivid Vervet), which has just become an official Ubuntu flavor, is in Beta stages. While a second and final Beta release will be pushed to users worldwide at the end of this month, on March 26, the final version will be unveiled on April 23, 2015, alongside other Ubuntu editions.
