War Thunder is an MMO game developed by Gaijin Entertainment that lets users control World War II's military aviation, armored vehicles, and fleets, and it’s now available on Linux.

The developers of War Thunder have managed to port the game for Linux players and have taken everyone by surprise. For the time being, this MMO can be downloaded only from the official website. The Steam version still needs a little more work, but the good news is that the title is free, for the most part.

"We’re happy to announce today that War Thunder is now available for Linux users. Just click the 'Download game' button on the main page and chose the link for Linux version! After extensive testing, Linux users around the world can finally experience War Thunder with cross-platform playability with PC, Mac and PS4 users, as well as all of the latest additions to the game. Please note that only 64-bit systems are supported. Linux-version for Steam will be released later," wrote the developers on the official website.

They have yet to publish any system requirements for it, but it's a taxing game and it will probably require users to have a system with specs above medium, with at least a dual-core 2.4 GHz CPU and an NVIDIA 260 GTX video card. All in all, it seems that it was very well received by the community and the servers will soon be filled with Linux players as well.
