VueScan 9.3.01, an easy-to-use replacement for the software that usually comes with scanners and that supports most flatbed scanners, printer/scanners, and film scanners, has been released and is available for download.

VueScan 9.3.01 is a minor release in the series, but it does features a couple of very interesting features and a few fixes.

According to the developers, the application is now capable to autodetect the paper in the document feeder, and it can distinguish between color and text.

Also, the automatic operating modes have been simplified and a few small user interface problems that were rather bothersome have been corrected.

VueScan provides support for over 1,000 scanners on the Linux system. Not all of them work with all SCSI/USB/Firewire interfaces, but most combinations are known to work.

A complete backlog of modifications, implemented in all the past versions, can be found in the official announcement. Download VueScan 9.3.01 right now from Softpedia.
