SFLPhone, a Voice over IP telephony software designed to work on desktops and embedded systems, has just reached version 1.4.0.

With SFLPhone, users can call through an SIP or IAX account, which are used by most enterprise internal phone networks and well-known servers, such as Asterisk or FreeSwitch. It's been a few months since the previous update and it looks like the developers didn't sit idle.

According to the changelog, Jack support has been added, the Video support is now provided by default, the ability to share the screen has been implemented, and the ability to stream videos, images and text files has been added.

In addition, GnuTLS is now offered as an alternative to OpenSSL, persistent camera configuration has been implemented, and users can now switch video sources during a call.

Also, it's now possible to enable or disable video per account, RTCP support has been added, the application can be built with clang, and a fully-featured contact manager is now available.

Moreover, users can add, edit and manage contact sources, and much more.

The developers are encouraging users to experiment with the software and provide much needed feedback. You can download SFLPhone 1.4.0 right now from Softpedia.
