QEMU 1.6.0, a generic open source emulator and virtualizer that can run OSes and programs made for a different machine, has been released and it's available for download.

QEMU 1.6.0 supports virtualization when executing under the Xen hypervisor or using the KVM kernel module in Linux.

As usual, every new version of QEMU comes with a ton of changes and this latest release is no different. For example, QEMU can expose the full set of ACPI tables to the guest, the ACPI hotplug for devices behind a PCI bridge is now supported, and the XHCI (USB 3.0) controller supports live migration.

Also, support has been added for auto-convergence ("CPU stunning") and BSDs now support the GTK+ user interface.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement. Download QEMU 1.6.0 right now from Softpedia.
