Oracle announced on July 4 that its VirtualBox virtualization product for enterprises and end users had just reached version 4.2.16.

Highlights of Oracle VirtualBox 4.2.16:

• The application no longer crashed on import, if no manifest is used. This was a regression from 4.2.14; • The current snapshot is no longer restored if the application is powered off after a Guru Mediation; • A crash that occurred when hotplugging an empty DVD drive to the VM has been fixed; • A crash that occurred when a guest read from a DVD drive attached to the SATA controller has been fixed; • The EFI no longer fails with 64-bit guests on 32-bit hosts.
