A lot of work has been implemented in this version of Vinux

Vinux, a remastered version of the popular Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) distribution, optimized for the needs of blind and partially sighted users, is now at version 4.0.

Vinux 4.0 comes by default with three screen-readers, two full-screen magnifiers, global font-size and color changing facilities, as well as support for USB Braille displays.

Highlights of Vinux 4.0:

• This is the first distribution in the series that uses Unity-2d Desktop; • Console speech has been improved and it works flawlessly; • A newer 3.5 Linux kernel has been implemented • A Classic menu indicator, which provides the old style menu whilst in a Unity environment, has been added; • The easy install scripts have been converted to meta packages. • Pico voices have been integrated again; • The Gnome login sound has been fixed.
