Vendetta Online, an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) from Guild Software Inc, has been upgraded to version 1.8.290.

In Vendetta Online, thousands of people can play together in a persistent universe. This is quite an important update because it finally adds the support for Oculus Rift HD.

According to the changelog, a few asteroid chunks have been replaced with higher-resolution models and textures for the Linux, Windows, and Mac OS operating systems (the mobile versions will have to contend with the old models), support has been added for Oculus Rift HD, and Oculus Rift is no longer required to be in mirror display mode.

Also, some code has been added to the experimental sector in an effort to try to identify why sectors are being randomly lost, and a crash bug that occurred when exiting early from the offline tutorial and attempting to log back in has been fixed.

The developers are also working on the server infrastructure, which should be improved soon, allowing even more users at any given time.

A complete list of changes and other fixes can be found in the official announcement. You can download Vendetta Online 1.8.290 right now from Softpedia. Keep in mind that you will need a constant Internet connection to play this game.
