The new Beta update will be downloaded automatically

Valve has released a new Beta update for its Steam client, featuring just a few features and some In-Home Streaming fixes.

Although users have been waiting for a major stable update for Steam, the developers chose to release yet another Beta version.

According to the developers, the Family View has been enabled again in Offline Mode, the In-Home Streaming Beta architecture has been updated in order to support many more games and to improve responsiveness, and Hosting from Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux systems has been temporarily disabled.

Also, a black screen that occurred when encoding with Intel QuickSync on Intel HD 3000 has been fixed, users can now use a game controller in the Borderlands 2 launcher, the controller rumble support on Windows 8 clients has been fixed, the controller dead zone for mouse emulation mode has been adjusted to reduce cursor drift, and the mouse cursor visibility and shape issues have been fixed.

Keep in mind that this is a Beta version and you might experience some problems with it. In order to get it, you have to enroll in the Beta program, from Preferences.
