Valve has launched a new Beta version for its Steam for Linux client, fixing a few problems that had been left hanging from the previous update.

After a development version garners sufficient changes, Valve promotes it to stable, and the work for the next beta starts almost immediately. Highlights of the latest Steam for Linux update:

• The missing base app is now installing when starting a mod; • A missing localization string in the left games list piece of the UI has been fixed; • Users have to wait 1 second after they see a controller before accepting a button down event for the guide button; • "caps lock" password entry warning has been added in the login panel of Big Picture Mode.

More details can be found in the official announcement.
