Valve has released another beta build of its Steam client, bringing a number of fixes for the Linux platform.

The company usually pushes a few Beta updates before upgrading the stable branch of Steam, and now it's time for another Beta build to be released.

According to the developers, a crash on the Linux platform that occurred if /proc/net/route wasn't available has been fixed, the missing cursor in Akaneiro when using the overlay has been corrected, Steam is no longer failing to re-launch on shutdown if some open sockets took too long to close, and the overlay now saves and restores the games’ gamma settings when invoked.

Check the official announcement for more details about this release. You can also download the Steam installer from Softpedia if you don't have the client.
