Valve has released a new stable build of its Steam client, this time featuring a lot of changes and improvements for the Linux version.

Valve usually pushes a few Beta updates before upgrading the stable branch of Steam, and now it's time for another stable build to be available for download.

According to the developers, pasting stale text has been fixed, Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V has been fixed in the client-hosted web page text controls, the incorrect foregrounding of a blank window in some -silent startup cases has been fixed, and the corrupt check box and radio button images on web pages have been corrected.

Also, the overlay now saves and restores the game’s gamma settings when invoked, a missing cursor in Akaneiro when using the overlay has been fixed, game controller hot-plugging is now working, and much more.

Check out the official announcement for more details about this release. You can also download the Steam installer from Softpedia if you don't have the client.
