Valve has released yet another stable version of its Steam client, featuring a large number of improvements for the Big Picture mode, in anticipation of the SteamOS launch in 2014.

Valve usually pushes a few Beta updates before upgrading the stable branch of Steam, and now it's time for another stable version to be released.

According to the developers, the connection ping used for selecting Steam servers to connect to on logon has been improved, the “My Games” library filter has been added in the desktop UI, and the “Purchase” button has been fixed and it's now opening the game store page.

Also, the reliability of loading store game pages when encountering network errors in Big Picture mode has been improved, a rare crash due to thread safety issue in some timing functions has been corrected, and the position of the play button when launching a game has been fixed.

You can also download the Steam installer from Softpedia if you don't have the client.
