Vala, a programming language that aims to bring modern features to GNOME developers without imposing any additional runtime requirements and without using a different ABI compared to applications and libraries written in C, is now at version 0.20.0.

The developers of Vala have slowly introduced a number of new features and quite a few changes, in the course of the last few months.

Highlights of Vala 0.20.0:

• Fixes and binding updates have been implemented; • Users can now rename fields in metadata; • GIR-based bindings have been updated; • The parameter string for goption has been nullable; • gtk+-3.0 has been updated to the latest master; • IconView.get_visible_range has been fixed; • TreeView::set_search_entry has been made nullable.

A complete list of changes and updates is available in the official announcement. Download Vala 0.20.0 right now from Softpedia.
