Canonical is preparing to launch something that could be called Ubuntu Edge

Canonical has just updated the Ubuntu.com website with a teaser image that should get everyone’s imagination working overtime, at least for the next four days.

This is the not the first time that Canonical resorts to a timer to mark the launch of something important. This is a very special occasion for a product that will most likely be called Ubuntu Edge.

Canonical has registered the domain for Ubuntu Edge just a few days ago, and the tag line “The line where two surfaces meet” indicates that it might be a new tablet running the new (and unreleased) Ubuntu Touch.

The prevailing hypothesis is that Sony might be the company that will take its chances with Ubuntu, especially because they don’t actually have a line of tablets.

Other companies could be Huawei or even ZTE. The timer is set to expire in four days. If you have any suggestions, don’t be afraid to share them in the comments below.
