Ubuntu Touch is ready to receive one of the biggest updates so far and Canonical has decided it's time for Mir and Unity 8 to land in the new operating system.

The launch date for Ubuntu Touch is getting closer and Canonical is now trying to tie up any loose ends and to implemented the last of the features. The last two updates for Ubuntu Touch are set to bring Unity 8 with a lot of fixes, a new network indicator, and new indicators, settings, webcred, and phone stacks. And this is just one of the implemented updates.

The new patch planned for Monday will deal with Mir and the developers will do everything in their power to get it implemented as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, you can download the new Ubuntu Touch operating system from Softpedia. Canonical provides a comprehensive installation wiki, if you prefer a more automated way.
