Martin Wimpress, leader of the Ubuntu MATE project, has teased all Ubuntu MATE users with a screenshot of the upcoming welcome screen that will be implemented in the next major various of the Ubuntu MATE Linux operating system.

The screenshot of the Ubuntu MATE Welcome screen has been posted earlier on the official Twitter account of the Ubuntu MATE project with the following line of text: "It is not finished yet, but the new Ubuntu MATE Welcome screen is taking shape."

The new welcome screen is identical with the one used in many other GNU/Linux operating systems, including Korora and Manjaro. It will offer users a good starting point in learning everything there is to know about Ubuntu MATE.

The welcome screen includes a short introduction for new users, where the Ubuntu MATE team welcomes them and thanks them for using the distribution, links to the social networking channels of the OS, as well as six buttons organized in three categories.

The buttons give you instant access to the Ubuntu MATE getting started guide, introduction, features, chat room, forums, and website. There are also a donation button and another one that redirects you to the online store of the operating system.
