At the request of a single user, Martin Wimpress, the developer of the famous Ubuntu MATE Linux operating system modified the donation page of the distribution by adding support for Bitcoin donations, which means that you can now donate Bitcoins to the project.

Jason Gosen (@gxeson) politely asked the Ubuntu MATE developers to add support for Bitcoin donations on the distribution’s website, allowing users to donate Bitcoins instead of money.

“I tweeted to @ububtu_mate yesterday that they should add a Bitcoin option to their donation page. I just got a tweet back this morning that they've added it. Go on and show them some love,” said Jason Gosen on Reddit.

The response of the Ubuntu MATE developer, Martin Wimpress, was extremely prompt, as usual. He modified the Ubuntu MATE donation page by adding support for donation Bitcoins via a QR code. After clicking or scanning the code, launch your Bitcoin wallet and donate 0.02 BTC to Ubuntu MATE.

If you would like to donate Bitcoins to the Ubuntu MATE computer operating system, you can do so by accessing the distribution’s donation page. In addition to Bitcoins, you can also donate money via PayPal or Flattr, and you can become a monthly supporter as well.
