Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) has been announced by Canonical. This is the second official major release for this flavor of Ubuntu.

The Ubuntu GNOME developers have said that their goal is to provide the purest GNOME experience, and the 13.10 is the natural evolution of their efforts.

“Ubuntu GNOME is an official flavour of Ubuntu, featuring the GNOME desktop environment. Ubuntu GNOME is a mostly pure GNOME desktop experience built from the Ubuntu repositories,” reads the official announcement.

The distribution makes uses of GNOME 3.8, although not all of the packages have been included. The packages left behind can be downloaded from the official GNOME PPA.

A complete list of changes and improvements can be found in the official announcement. Download Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) right now from Softpedia.
