14 DAY TRIAL // Sebastien Bacher has sent in his usual interesting report on what's new for the upcoming Desktop edition of the Ubuntu Linux operating system, Wily Werewolf a.k.a. Ubuntu 15.10.
The most important thing to mention is that most of the GNOME packages have been updated to the version 3.16, and that some of the packages have been migrated from Python 2 to Python 3.
Additionally, the old versions of the Vala object-oriented programming language have been removed from Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf), the Ubuntu Make 0.8.2 has arrived with many improvements to Microsoft Visual Studio and support for the 32-bit version of the software.
"For those who would like to have an overview without reading the detailed log, here is a summary of some of things we worked on that might be interesting to you," says Sebastien Bacher.
Moreover, the tests have been fixed, work continues on delivering a Snappy personal image, as both the image builder and channel are now working as expected, and all the tools will soon be updated with support for the new Snappy channel.
Last but not least, there are updates for the Evolution and GStreamer packages, which will soon land in the Wily Werewolf PPA, and of course, there are the usual bug fixes and updated packages.
