Canonical is getting ready to introduce a new icon theme for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) that will be the same across all platforms.
Right now, Canonical has different sets of icons for all its products and the desktop version of Ubuntu has been lagging behind. Very little work has been done in this department for the last few editions, but the company is ready to add a new look and feel to the distribution.
James Matthieu, a visual designer for Canonical, has shown the progress made so far with the new icon set and I have to say it looks absolutely stunning. Ubuntu has managed to stay away from the flat icons, which seem to be quite popular, and the design spans across the entire range of products.
