Canonical has announced the latest and final Beta version for Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) and it's quite different from the previous release.

Ubuntu 13.04 is expected to ship on April 25, and until then, users will get the chance to try some of the new features expected to ship with the new version.

Amongst the biggest changes in Ubuntu 13.04 Beta 2 (Raring Ringtail), there's a new Linux kernel 3.8.0-16.26-ubuntu, which is based on the v3.8.5 upstream Linux kernel.

Unity was also updated, along with Upstart (a bridge that allows jobs to react to filesystem changes). Canonical even made the switch to Python 3.3.

From a graphical standpoint, a few of the default Unity default icons, like the ones for Files and Ubuntu Software Center, have been replaced.

Download Ubuntu 13.04 Beta 2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
