Haemimont Games and Kalipso Media have announced that the fifth iteration of Tropico will be available on multiple platforms, including Linux.
The Linux support is a first for the Tropico city-building franchise and the game is scheduled to be released sometime in 2014.
“Packed with a whole host of new gameplay features and all new artwork designed from scratch, Tropico 5 takes the series into a new and exciting direction – dynasties,” reads the official announcement.
Until now, Tropico games were usually centered around one dictator, which was played by the user. Now, the gamers will follow the history of a fictional island nation from the 19th to the 21st century.
Also, according to the developers, Tropico 5 will for the first time add cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players.
