Trine Enchanted Edition, a 2D adventure game developed and published by Frozenbyte, might be getting a Linux release pretty soon.

The Linux players already got to play the second game in the series, which is Trine 2: Complete Story. The devs ported this one first, but users have been asking them to port the first Trine as well. Now, it looks like their wish is about to be granted.

The makers of Trine answered a question on the official Steam forum regarding the porting process, and from the looks of it, they are pretty close. "Not really new, but I can tell that the Linux version is already in pretty good shape, though not really ready to be published yet. At least so far there haven't been really bad setbacks."

Trine was released back in 2009 and it was ported for the Linux players with the help of Humble Bundle. The system requirements are pretty low and most users will be able to play it. All you need is a 2.0 GHz CPU (dual-core recommended), 1 GB of RAM, 4GB of HDD space, and an ATi Radeon HD 2400 or NVIDIA GeForce 7600 video card. These are for the Windows version, but they should be really close to the Linux ones.

More details about Trine Enchanted Edition can be found on Steam.
