Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, the third game in the Trine series, is now in Steam Early Access, but only for the Windows platform. The developers have said that the Linux version will be made available, but only at a later date.

The developers from Frozenbyte are among the first ones who brought Linux support for their games. Trine and Trine 2 were very well received by the community, and the games are known for their quality and excellent gameplay.

Like many other titles that are announced these days, Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power is now an Early Access game, and that means that it will remain in development for quite some time. It's still in the Alpha stages, but users can already buy it and test it, but that only applies to Windows users, as it looks like Linux gamers will have to wait a little bit longer.

"We are planning to add Linux support, but unfortunately I can't say anything about the schedule. We'll probably get to it after the actual release. I recommend keeping an eye on our blog on our website for the latest news," wrote one on the devs in response to a question from a Linux user.

There is no launch date attached to the project, but it's possible that it will be available as a stable release by the end of the year.
