Anomaly 2, a game described as a tower-defense real-time strategy, will be launched on multiple platforms, including Linux.

The first game in the series, Anomaly: Warzone Earth was a huge success and was eventually ported for Linux, with a Humble Bundle.

According to the developers from 11 Bit Studios, the game will maintain the core concepts of the original – tactical planning and the on-field Commander to support troops in combat – but will add quite a few new features, such as unit morphing, a new multiplayer mode, alternative endings, and an improved graphics engine.

The story also follows the one in the previous game. The action starts in 2018, after the Earth was overrun by alien machines. The player will have to ensure the continuation of the human species and to guide the convoys to safety.

More details about this amazing looking game can be found in the official announcement.
