Microsoft execs have been dissing Linux for a long time and most of them have been funny and uninformed. Here is the top five quotes, mostly made by Steve Ballmer.

Most of the opinions expressed by these quotes are naïve, at best, but they’re funny nonetheless. If you know some funny quotes, don't be shy and leave a comment below.

“Linux is a cancer that attaches itself in an intellectual property sense to everything it touches,” Steve Ballmer, Microsoft.

“Linux itself is a clone of an operating system that is 20-plus years old. That's what it is. That is what you can get today, a clone of a 20-year-old system. I'm not saying that it doesn't have some place for some customers, but that is not an innovative proposition.” Steve Ballmer.

“Linux was made by foreign terrorists to steal money from true AMERICAN companies like Microsoft who invented computing as we know it, and are being punished for their success...” – unknown source (if you know it, please share it).

“There's no roadmap for Linux. Nobody is held accountable for security problems with Linux.” Steve Ballmer.

“The way the license is written, if you use any open-source software, you have to make the rest of your software open source,” Steve Ballmer about talking about GNU GPL licenses.
