Yesterday, we’ve announced the default wallpaper of the forthcoming Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) operating system, which turned out to not be orange, but purple. The new wallpaper is based on the “Suru” design concepts of the Ubuntu Touch operating system.

This origami style design was actually first introduced in Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic Unicorn) and Ubuntu Phone with Unity 8. As expected, it has now been revamped a little bit with some change of colors and design.

A gray version of Ubuntu 15.04’s default wallpaper is also available and it looks really nice. You can view and download the gray version of Ubuntu 15.04’s default wallpaper by clicking the header image of this article or from here in PNG format.

Canonical will announce the final version of Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) next month, on April 23, 2015, but until then, we will be able to test the Final Beta version of the distribution in two weeks, on March 26. Both wallpapers will be included.

In related news, Ubuntu 15.04 will come with 10 new wallpapers that we’ve announced earlier this week. These are community wallpapers that won the Ubuntu 15.04 Wallpaper Contest that took place on Flickr.
