That’s quite unbelievable, most probably there were only a few devices available for purchase in the flash sale

Sad news, guys, as it appears that the second Ubuntu phone flash sale for today lasted only 10 minutes. We have to admit that we didn’t expect that to happen, especially that BQ stated on their Google+ page that their store will be open until stock lasts, giving people high hopes that they will be able to purchase a device today.

As we’ve reported earlier, BQ planned a flash sale of Ubuntu phones today, February 11, from 9am to 6pm CET (Central European Time) on its online store. The sale begun at 9am sharp. Three hours later, BQ reported on Twitter that they are sold-out, but an additional batch of Ubuntu phones will be ready for a second flash sale starting 3pm CET. At 3:10pm, all devices were sold out!

If you ask us, that’s quite impossible. Most probably, there were only a couple of devices left in stock. Even logged in, it will take approximately 3-5 minutes to complete the check out and purchase the device, considering the fact that you have to enter your credit card’s digits, shipping address, etc.

We’ve dropped a question on BQ’s Twitter account about how many Ubuntu phone devices they sold, but no answer was provided. Until now, we’ve spotted only one user who reported purchasing an Ubuntu phone device (see below for details). Anyway, we’ll let you know if any other Ubuntu phone flash sales will be available anytime soon.
