As reported earlier this week, the hard-working team of developers behind the acclaimed GNOME desktop environment are still releasing maintenance versions for some of the core components of the stable GNOME 3.16 branch.

Therefore, today we inform our readers that the GNOME Software application, the default graphical package manager of the GNOME desktop environment, has been updated to version 3.16.4, which fixes several annoying issues reported by users since the previous point release of the software, GNOME Software 3.16.3.

According to the attached changelog, GNOME Software 3.16.4 is here to fix a recurring crash in the AppStream plugin, to address a critical warning that appeared when attempting to open the app folder dialog, and hide UI (User Interface) updates on managed systems.

Moreover, the fourth maintenance release of GNOME Software 3.16 fixes a possible crash that occurred when attempting to change the "download-updates" option in gsettings, adds a workaround for the text that appeared as selected in the updates dialog, and improves the error dialog for offline updates that failed.

All GNOME 3.16 users are urged to update the GNOME Software package to version 3.16.4 as soon as possible. Additionally, you can download the GNOME Software 3.16.4 sources right now from Softpedia.
