TeamViewer, a piece of software that enables users to connect and control remote computers with great ease, has reached version 9.0 Build 23647 Beta.

Even if the version number indicates the fact that the software is still under heavy development, it's unlikely that it will become a native app. That's right, the TeamViewer Linux version actually runs on Wine.

If you're willing to accept this simple fact, then you will find that the Linux version of TeamViewer is actually pretty interesting.

Uses can now copy and paste files, images, and text via the clipboard, transfer files without establishing a connection, and quite few other features. Unfortunately, the developers have said that some features are only available on the Windows version, but they haven't specified which one are also found on the Linux platform.

A complete list of changes and new features is available in the official announcement (not sure which ones work on Linux). Download TeamViewer 9.0 Build 23647 Beta right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
