François Dupoux announced a few hours ago, April 28, the immediate availability for download of the SystemRescueCd 3.5.1 Linux-based operating system for rescue and recovery tasks.

SystemRescueCd 3.5.1 updated the standard Linux kernel package to the Long-Term-Supported (LTS) 3.4.42 (with rescuecd and rescue64) and the alternative Linux kernel packages to the latest stable 3.8.9 kernel (with altker32 and altker64).

Moreover, SystemRescueCd 3.5.1 includes the recently released Gparted 0.16.0 software, which adds support for the F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) filesystem, fixes a crash that appeared when copying or moving partitions, and resolves an issue when GParted scans forever blank disk in a virtual machine.

Midori 0.5.0 web browser is also available in this release. For more details take a look at the official changelog. Download SystemRescueCd 3.5.1 right now from Softpedia.
