François Dupoux announced last evening, December 13th, the first maintenance release of his popular SystemRescueCd 2.4 Linux-based operating system for system rescue and recovery tasks.

SystemRescueCd 2.4.1 is here to bring updated packages and new features. Among them, we can mention Linux kernel 3.0.13 as the standard kernel and Linux kernel 3.1.5 as the alternative kernel, both available for 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.

Moreover, the Mozilla Firefox 8.0 web browser and the newly released GParted 0.11.0 partitioning utility have been added in SystemRescueCd 2.4.1, as well as updated XFS filesystem tools (xfsprogs 3.1.6 and xfsdump 3.0.6) and the latest stable Git version of btrfs-progs.

SystemRescueCd is a Linux Live CD operating system that offers an easy and quick way to repair systems and recover data after serious crashes.
